지역적 맥락과 자연 등에서 작품의 영감을 받아 왕성한 활동을 하는 송주형 작가는 이번 개인전에 지금, 여기 어딘가에서 들려오는 우리들의 이야기를 꺼내 놓았다. 그의 작업은 인간 중심적 사고와 그로 인한 난개발이 초래한 환경 파괴에 대한 비평적 태도에서 출발한다. 이것은 인간과 자연은 물론, 인간 간의 관계까지 부정적인 영향을 미쳤으며 일상까지 위협하는 현 상황에 이르게 되었다.

작가는 이를 함께 돌아보기 위한 사유와 화해의 장을 마련하고자 자연환경과 비인간 존재를 환기시키는 작업을 전시장에서 펼쳐낸다. 이는 비인간 존재와의 공존을 예술적 상상력을 통해 상기시키고, 관객으로 하여금 내면의 성찰과 명상을 통한 정화된 마음으로 공존의 가능성을 모색하도록 유도한다.

전시장에서 작품 사이로 걷거나 작품 안으로 들어가 명상 등의 체험을 하거나 영상과 사운드에 집중하며 다양한 감각적인 경험을 할 수 있다. 전시의 공간과 작품 구성은 크게 세 가지로 나뉘며, 각각은 관객에게 새로운 경험을 제시한다.

Artist Song Zoohyeong, who draws prolific inspiration from local contexts and nature, presents in this solo exhibition our stories echoing from somewhere here and now. His work stems from a critical perspective on anthropocentric thinking and the indiscriminate development that has led to environmental devastation. This phenomenon has adversely impacted not only nature but also human relationships, encroaching upon our everyday lives.

Through this exhibition, Song invites viewers to join in a space of reflection and reconciliation, where nature and non-human entities come to mind. He evokes coexistence with non-human entities through artistic imagination, guiding viewers to seek the possibility of harmony through inner reflection and meditation, fostering a purified sense of mind.

As visitors wander between artworks, immerse themselves in installations, or focus on the evocative visuals and sounds, they experience a range of sensory interactions. The exhibition space and works are divided into three sections, each presenting visitors with a unique journey.

<그곳엔 아무 것도 없어>는 인천 지역의 개발 역사 등을 소재로, 인간과 비인간 존재 간의 긴장을 다루고자 한다. 여기서 세이렌 신화가 모티브 된 사운드 작업은 우리에게 비인간 존재인 '파도와 물거품'을 통해 인간의 끝없는 욕망과 자연을 파괴하는 행위를 경고하며, 서로 공존할 수 있는 이상향을 상징적으로 제시한다. 이는 인간과 비인간 존재 사이의 관계를 재고하게 만들며, 관람객에게 나은 삶을 위한 미래를 상상하도록 제안한다.

Nothing is There addresses the tension between human and non-human entities, drawing on themes such as the development history of the Incheon region. The sound work, inspired by the myth of the siren, uses the non-human entities of ‘waves and sea foam’ to warn us of humanity’s boundless desires and destructive actions toward nature, symbolically suggesting an ideal of coexistence. This artwork prompts reconsideration of the relationships between human and non-human entities and invites viewers to envision a future for a better life.

<그곳엔 아무 것도 없어> 시놉시스
바다를 메워 만들어진 욕망의 섬으로 유혹하는 노래가 바다 멀리 들려 온다. 인간들은 욕망을 쫓아 거대한 배를 만들고, 다리를 건설하여 바다로 나아간다. 파도는 바위에 부딪혀 물거품을 만들어내며 그곳엔 아무것도 없다며 경고한다.
